Paramount Printing is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Structural Designer to join our team. In this role, you will design, sample, and test corrugated packaging and displays, primarily for the Health & Beauty Products market. The ideal candidate will have experience with Artios CAD, a deep understanding of materials and manufacturing processes, and a passion for innovative packaging solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop creative concept renderings for both permanent and temporary displays, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and product specifications.
- Design and build structural display concepts using Artios CAD, ensuring all designs are functional, visually appealing, and meet customer and industry standards.
- Modify display components as necessary and generate detailed specification packages using Artios CAD to support production and customer needs.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive product library of images for rendering purposes, ensuring an organized and accessible database for design projects.
- Operate the Cutting Table to create samples of corrugated display components, ensuring physical samples match design specifications for customer approval.
- Conduct prototype testing to ensure displays meet functional, aesthetic, and durability requirements, making necessary adjustments based on test results.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including production, sales, and engineering, to ensure smooth execution of designs from concept to final product.
- Identify and resolve design-related data inconsistencies, ensuring accurate documentation and workflow efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and update internal systems with specifications, revisions, and test results.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 4 years of relevant experience utilizing Artios CAD.
- In-depth knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes as they pertain to corrugated packaging and displays—including cutting, folding, printing, and assembly.
- Strong creative problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative packaging solutions.
- Ability to analyze data and identify inconsistencies in structural designs, ensuring efficient production.
- Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in corrugated packaging and display design is a plus.
Supervision:
- Works independently with minimal supervision but must communicate issues and concerns to the supervisor as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting: Occasionally lifts objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Push/Pull: Occasionally exerts force using upper extremities to draw, haul, or tug objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Reaching: Extends hands and arms in various directions.
- Stooping: Occasionally bends the body downward and forward.
- Standing: Moderate standing time; infrequent durations of more than 30 minutes at a time.
- Sitting: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Walking: Occasionally moves about on foot for task completion, sometimes for durations exceeding 30 minutes.
- Work Environment: Must be able to work in varied weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
