JOB SUMMARY
The PrePress Operator Lead will perform numerous machine operations to support the plant bindery and prepress functions. Responsible for maintaining a high level of quality in the final product.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for reading the job ticket, preflight form, production notes and alteration form, and to understand and follow those instructions.
- Displays thorough written communication via production notes on EPP form.
- Exhibits thorough and timely verbal communication to lead or shift supervisor regarding direction on jobs, and unrealistic due date times.
- Ability to be responsive to urgent requests due to reprioritizing work flow due to a job being off press, or arrival time of jobs with little turnaround time. Keeps abreast of current and upcoming software and hardware.
- Responsible for following department standard operating procedures and lead’s, supervisors and manager’s direction.
- Maintain a high level of quality in producing, imposing, trapping, outputting, and inspecting jobs.
- Performs other duties as requested. Work overtime as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Vocational/technical school or college degree in electronic prepress and/or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years employment experience in an electronic pre-press environment.
- Extensive knowledge and demonstrated skills in all production processes related to electronic pre-press activities, including software, hardware, equipment, and materials.
- Preferred Skills
- Ability to read planning layouts and produce imposed files.
- Ability to understand trapping concerns and produce correctly trapped files for the pressroom.
- Ability to work on complex jobs in a fast paced, quality focused environment.
- Ability to use problem-solving skills in producing jobs effectively.
