The mission of the Ipsos Growth Organization (GO) Senior Vice President, Business Development & Client Officer is to unlock opportunity and business with new clients and to expand growth within current client accounts. Those in this role are senior businesspeople focused on identifying and reeling in new opportunities that will bring value to both Ipsos and clients. They do so by leveraging industry / sector connections, working conferences, leveraging social media, building compelling reach-out strategies, understanding prospect business issues, and then penetrating relevant buying points with Ipsos’ broad portfolio of services. Those on this team open new doors, bring the best Ipsos solutions to the table, and ultimately start new client relationships that have potential to be long term Ipsos partnerships.
Summary of Position and Requirements
The Senior Vice President, Business Development & Client Officer will be a key member of Ipsos’ US Growth Organization. They are tasked with Driving Growth across defined targets as described below. The ideal candidate will :
- Be based in the Washington D.C. area
- Have a successful sales record—understand the associated hustle and attitude required
- Work closely with Ipsos experts to build state / local / federal government business (primary focus on Federal). Scope will also include non-profit associations, academic institutions and some commercial clients
- Stay current on industry and relevant trends
- Understand relevant strategy and business challenges
- Build strategic pursuit plans
- Penetrate, build and nurture relationships in various parts of the target agencies / teams (Insights, Risk Analytics, Marketing, R&D, Strategy, Communications, Procurement, Operations, etc.)
- Effectively communicate the Ipsos value proposition to prospects, adapting that message to attract new clients to Ipsos
- Be collaborative and work closely with Ipsos service lines to develop plans and micro-campaigns that engage new clients and client stakeholders
- Track the sales process and report on progress
- Understand the complexities and procurement processes of GovCon
- Have an already-built relevant network
- Understand how to leverage agency, congressional, and partner relationships to drive growth
The person in this role will have high visibility within Ipsos, reporting to the President who oversees Strategic Growth and working closely with the EVP that oversees Government and Public Affairs. The person in this role will interact with other key Ipsos senior stakeholders, including Service Line Leaders, Global Client Directors, and Service Line Client & Project teams.
Required Skills and Abilities :
In accordance with NY / CO / CA / WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $210,000 to $250,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and / or certifications.
