The Opportunity:
The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for leading and executing domestic and global sourcing strategies across multiple product categories. This role focuses on optimizing the supplier base, ensuring cost competitiveness, quality assurance, and supply chain efficiency. The Sourcing Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, Distribution, Purchasing and Finance, to meet company objectives for cost reduction, risk mitigation, and supply continuity.
What you will do:
- Develop and Implement Sourcing Strategies: Lead the development of global and domestic sourcing strategies to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers across the globe, negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms of service.
- Cost Optimization: Drive cost reduction initiatives through competitive bidding, negotiations, and supplier development while maintaining or improving quality and delivery standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain by ensuring a diverse supplier base, geographic diversity, and contingency planning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders in Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Distribution, Purchasing and Finance to align sourcing strategies with company goals.
- Contract Management: Negotiate long-term agreements and oversee contract management, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs and regularly evaluate supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, and delivery.
- Market Analysis: Stay current with market trends, commodity pricing, and global economic conditions to adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.
- Sustainability and Compliance: Ensure that all sourcing activities comply with legal, ethical, and environmental standards, and support corporate sustainability goals.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide buyers and procurement staff, sharing best practices and industry insights.
What you’ll need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field. MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on both domestic and global sourcing.
- Proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and delivering cost savings in a global supply chain.
- Experience in medical device industries, consumer goods and experience supply large medical device distributors.
- Global Sourcing Expertise: Deep understanding of international trade, tariffs, customs, and import/export regulations.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools (Netsuite, SAP)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Certifications: Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CPM) is a plus.
