About The Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Research Manager to design research studies, write proposals and conduct custom, qualitative research with an eye toward actionable reporting. A thorough understanding of quantitative research techniques, tools, processes, and procedures is essential. You must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be detail-oriented, flexible and above all, collaborative. In this role, you will be working closely with the VP of Custom Research, various research managers and the Director of Marketing Sciences as well as various data analysts and publishing department personnel.

About The Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Research Manager to design research studies, write proposals and conduct custom, qualitative research with an eye toward actionable reporting. A thorough understanding of quantitative research techniques, tools, processes, and procedures is essential. You must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be detail-oriented, flexible and above all, collaborative. In this role, you will be working closely with the VP of Custom Research, various research managers and the Director of Marketing Sciences as well as various data analysts and publishing department personnel.
What You’ll Do
- Design custom quantitative research projects for clients across a wide variety of industries: these projects will vary not only by industry, but also by general approach (IDIs, online focus groups, CLTs, IHUTs, online surveys, etc.) and project type (CSAT/CX, concept testing, price elasticity, portfolio optimization, segmentation, etc.)
- Write detailed proposals that cover the key objectives, recommended approach (and why), main deliverables/outputs, timing and budget
- Develop research instruments, e.g., online surveys, with a clear sense of what the data will look like on the backend and how best to report them
- Generate analysis and report specifications, e.g., banner points and associated statistical testing for data crosstabulations, scoring rubrics, advanced analyses (MaxDiff, DCM, etc.)
- Analyze/interpret primary research results
- Write PPT and other types of reports (memos, white papers, etc.) with an emphasis on storytelling
- Provide professional development training for colleagues/junior staff
- 7 years of relevant experience as a Research Manager with a track record of high performance on quantitative studies, including progressive responsibilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, manage, and effectively deliver on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of research methodologies from sampling through advanced analytics like DCM
- Creative research methodologies/designs
- Strong knowledge of and experience with statistical packages like SPSS, R, WinCross and/or Excel
- Superior customer focus, and willingness to work evenings and weekends as/if needed to support client needs
- A positive and collaborative attitude, with a willingness to lead and support the development of team members across the organization
- Competitive salary: $112,000 - $140,000
