Position Summary
Responsible for carefully packaging guest purchase, carrying or carting them out to the guest vehicle and carefully placing them where the customer would like them. As the last person to assist our guests, promoting world class customer service is imperative. Position also works with the customer service front end team to promote cleanliness, maintenance assistance, and any other service to customers and staff as needed.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

· Promote outstanding customer service with all guests and associates, greeting all customers with a smile, offering assistance, thanking customers for shopping at our store and inviting them to come bck.

· Project a professional personal image with impeccable hygiene and wearing a clean, neat assigned uniform, with a clearly visible nametag.

· Packages customer purchases

- Ask customer if they prefer paper or plastic

- Look on conveyor belt to determine what things should be packed together, such as cold items, moving crushables to the side avoid damage

- Keep chemicals separate from food, tighten caps and package separately in a plastic bag.

- Pack raw meat separately in a plastic bag.

- Square the bags when packaging, they should be able to stand up, heavy items on the bottom lighter or crushable items such as produce, eggs, bread and chips on top

· Assist customer with transporting their purchases to their vehicle.

- Put groceries on courtesy cart and follow customer outside to their vehicle.

- Make eye contact with customer and focus on their needs as you walk out with them.

- Ask customer where in their vehicle they would like their groceries placed.

- Carefully place bags where they will not tip over or roll around.

- Warmly thank the customer and invite them back.

· Assist cashier with each guest encounter, providing price checks, retrieving items or locating missing products quickly and cheerfully.

· Assists in keeping the front end stocked and clean.

· Maintains product knowledge by knowing how to read tags and compare UPC’s, being able to locate all items in the store and becoming familiar with location of items on sale.

· Provides storewide maintenance assistance such as proper spill clean-up, taping and repairing damaged products if necessary, assisting with cardboard baling if age appropriate, and any other assistance needed in store, parking lot, back room, break room or bathroom as assigned.

· Protect store assets by being aware of security processes, checking carts for all products, reporting theft concerns to coaches, and being alert and aware of the behavior of people in the store.

· Observes all safety policies and procedures.

· Stays productive throughout the shift regardless of customer volume, performing other duties such as cleaning and facing shelves.

Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds regularly. Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds occasionally. Continuous walking or standing, occasional crouching and kneeling. Frequent use of hands to handle products. This position is subject to a typical retail store environment and regularly exposed to weather extremes. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
