Markey's, a multi-state leading provider of creative audio-visual services, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Purchasing Administrator to join our team at our Indianapolis headquarters. The Purchasing Administrator will support strategic inventory purchasing and vendor management. This role requires strong problem-solving skills to evaluate cross-rental purchases, optimize procurement processes, and analyze purchasing trends for cost-effectiveness and quality.
This is a full-time, hourly (non-exempt) role with typical office hours, though occasional early mornings/late afternoons may be required as needed.
Position Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Rental Inventory Systems (DRIS) to strategically purchase inventory and other supplies.
- Establish, optimize, and manage vendor portals, ensuring seamless operation.
- Evaluate and manage cross-rental purchases to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Negotiate purchases to achieve the best balance of quality and price, leveraging analytical insights.
- Analyze purchases and cross rentals to identify trends and opportunities for improving purchasing practices.
- Write purchase orders and manage tasks associated with accounting.
- Develop, update, and monitor inventory budget worksheets, providing insights for budget optimization.
- Complete inventory projects as assigned by the DRIS, applying problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Obtain inventory information for the DRIS and R2 Administrator as requested.
- Other responsibilities as given by the DRIS.
Requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Attention to detail and high accuracy with every given task.
- Good knowledge and understanding of all types of A/V equipment.
- Desire to learn Markey’s Inventory at a deeper level.
- Desire to learn R2 at a deeper level.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Markey’s Vendors.
- Ability to work effectively with internal customers.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Forklift certified or the skill set to become certified.
- Excellent computer aptitude with the ability to use the Microsoft Office product suite (Word, Excel, Office, Teams).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record in order to be insured on the Markey’s policy to drive company vehicles.
