Markey's, a multi-state company and a leading provider in creative audio-visual services, is looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to perform accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger tasks.
This is a full-time, hourly (non-exempt) position with typical daytime office hours Monday through Friday. Position is based at Markey's Headquarters Office near downtown Indianapolis.
Position Responsibilities
- Process, verify, and enter all vendor invoices.
- Handle internal check requests, including urgent requests that need to be turned around same day.
- Process customer invoices and credit memos.
- Assist with cash receipts including bank deposits and credit card payments.
- Follow-up on customer accounts requiring attention and past due balances.
- Reconcile corporate credit card statement.
- Assist with fixed asset depreciation and maintenance.
- Calculate and remit monthly sales and use taxes.
- Assist with corporate credit card program tracking and expense reports.
- Help with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing tasks including journal entries and bank reconciliations.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the accounting department.
- Respond to colleagues with accounting questions and solve problems as they arise.
- Perform other administrative duties as needed.
