Overview:
Markley is New Englands largest and longest operating multi-tenant, mission-critical telecommunication, and data center with facilities in Boston and Lowell MA. Markley Properties is looking to add a highly skilled Engineer to the team. As a key member of the Engineering Team, you will be evaluating, architecting and delivering solutions for both our internal IT organization, as well as for our expanding client services.
**minimum in Boston office 3 days a week. No relocation offered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Configure and Support the Vmware-based Private Cloud infrastructure for Markley Cloud Services.
- Support a complex network environment based on Juniper switching.
- Work with other team members to improve and maintain monitoring and notification infrastructure.
- Improve operational efficiency by streamlining process and automating tasks.
- Participate in 24/7 on call rotation schedule.
- Work with Management to establish and document controls and procedures.
- Balance working on Business-critical projects with day-to-day client ticket resolution.
- Ability to complete tasks and resolve issues with some guidance from senior staff
- Responsible for information security by appropriately preserving the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of Markley Group information assets in accordance with the company's information security program.
Qualifications and Skills
- Solid experience with Vmware, with VCloud Director preferred.
- Understanding of Layer 2 network technologies
- Understanding of layer 3 network technologies (Dynamic Routing)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Juniper and Fortinet desirable.
- Experience using Veeam backup tools or similar.
- Familiarity with the principles and methods of Disaster Recovery. Experience with Zerto preferred.
- Strong system administration background for Linux based systems (Ubuntu/Debian).
- Solid understanding of Microsoft technologies such as: Windows Server, O365, Active Directory.
- Writing technical design documents and standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to adapt to changes in the business requirements.
- Experience working in an MSP environment is highly desirable.
Salary : $135,000 - $150,000
