Markon is creating a team to provide Construction Management support to the Western North Carolina VA Health Care System (WNCVAHCS). The team will be located with a primary duty location at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC, and support multiple facilities in the WNCVAHCS. The services provided by this team will include, but are not limited to pre-design phase services, design phase services, procurement phase services, construction services, claims services, administration services, and technical specialty services.
The government requires a broad range of professional and technical consultative assistance related to operations, renovation, and new construction programs. The project support includes the Non-Recurring Maintenance (NRM), Minor and/or Major project support at the facility. A successful Mechanical Engineer candidate will provide subject matter expertise to support:
- Support pre-design phase support services to assess existing conditions to identify the extent of repairs and alterations required.
- Develop Concept Plans, Independent Government Cost Estimates, Schedules, and Technical Specifications for projects at various stages of design.
- Perform design development reviews as required by the Government.
- Verify that the completed designs comply with government standards and with the scopes of work identified for the projects.
- Advise on any defects, conflicts, ambiguities, discrepancies, or lack of clarity in contract documents.
