We are currently seeking a full-time Litigation Legal Assistant to join the team in our Chesterfield, VA office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience working in personal injury litigation as a paralegal/legal assistant.
Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for all case clerical details before, during, and after trial. Some responsibilities include:
- Aid attorneys and/or paralegals on cases and projects
- Gather and analyze information relevant to claims
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions and appellate documents and file them with the appropriate court
- Prepare and draft documents and correspondence necessary to reach settlement
- Maintain client files, electronically and on paper
- Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics etc.)
Competitive applicants for this role will have:
- Proven working experience of 3 – 5 years as a litigation paralegal/litigation legal assistant.
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, procedures, practices etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- The willingness to be a team player as well as a strong individual contributor
- The ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
- Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Other desirable skills and experience include:
- Previous experience in case management software; familiarity with Filevine is a plus.
- Paralegal associates degree, other relevant certification, or college degree preferred, but not required

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
