Marks Sattin is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director of Accounting Advisory Services to join our client – a well establish professional services firm.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in accounting advisory and a proven track record of leadership.
This role is operable from our clients offices based in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and Washington D.C.
Role Overview:
The Director will provide comprehensive accounting advisory services, including:
- IPO and M&A Readiness
- Transaction Advisory
- Technical Accounting Research
- SEC Compliance & Financial Reporting
- CFO Advisory
- Continuous improvement and optimization of finance and accounting functions
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Delegate and supervise the preparation of financial statements and technical accounting position papers for both public and private companies.
- Quality Assurance: Review accounting memos, financial statements, and other client deliverables to ensure adherence to general accounting standards.
- Expert Guidance: Provide independent conclusions and recommendations on the application of complex accounting guidance to clients and external parties.
- Client Interaction: Facilitate communications with the SEC, client auditors, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Project Management: Assist engagement partners in developing budget plans, communicate these budgets to the team, and monitor progress to ensure deadlines and budgets are met.
- Team Leadership: Lead multiple engagement teams to further the Firm’s goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Over eight years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or professional services.
- Certification: CPA license is desirable.

- Preparation of SEC filings
- Technical Accounting Research & Position Papers
- Addressing SEC Comment Letters
- Carve-out Financial Reporting
- IPO Readiness & Reporting
