About the Role:
As a Payroll Specialist on the Client Accounting Services team, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering tailored payroll and accounting solutions to our clients. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining experience and exposure to a diverse range of industries while deepening your expertise in payroll processing, compliance, and best practices. This role offers the flexibility to balance your professional and personal life while providing opportunities to grow, innovate, and make a meaningful impact. You’ll work alongside subject matter experts with deep knowledge of payroll and GAAP accounting. You’ll be instrumental in building strong relationships with our clients and collaborating with senior leaders to deliver quality solutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Enroll clients with third-party payroll partners to ensure seamless integration and service.
- Process client payrolls promptly and accurately, maintaining high standards of precision.
- Deliver reliable, responsive, and timely execution of payroll processes to meet client expectations.
- Investigate and resolve tax notices efficiently, ensuring compliance and client satisfaction.
- Stay informed about tax law changes and develop effective client communication strategies regarding these updates.
- Confidently discuss and assist with HR and policy matters, providing expert guidance.
- Effectively communicate and market firm payroll services, showcasing the value and benefits to potential clients.
- Support team members during peak project workloads, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
- Manage firm access to client accounts with third-party payroll partners, ensuring secure and streamlined operations.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with various payroll partners, enhancing service quality and collaboration.
About You:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in multi-state payroll processing, HR and payroll tax knowledge, in a client services industry.
- Strong understanding of regulations such as FLSA, FICA, FUTA, and state-specific payroll tax requirements.
- Knowledgeable with calculation of wages, proper tax withholding, timely tax deposits, and filing payroll tax returns.
- Collaborative mindset: You thrive in a team environment and embrace continuous learning.
- Adept at working at a fast pace while maintaining precision and meeting deadlines.
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and writing skills, including advising and communicating solutions and issues to clients.
- Experience with Professional Employer Organizations (PEO) preferred but not required.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, and QuickBooks.
