Our range includes sturgeon caviar produced at our own Sturgeon AquaFarms in Bascom, FL, the only legal producer of Beluga caviar in the USA, alongside other luxury items such as non-sturgeon roe, foie gras, fresh truffles, wild mushrooms, smoked salmon, king crab, olive oils, balsamic vinegars, premium chocolates, and more. We serve customers across wholesale, retail, restaurant, and e-commerce channels.


Position Overview

The Purchasing Manager will oversee sourcing, ordering, and managing inventory of gourmet food products and essential supplies. This role requires a strong analytical mindset with expertise in procurement operations, including purchase orders, inventory volumes, invoicing, pricing structures, and costing.


The ideal candidate will excel in forecasting, data analysis, and volume planning to optimize stock levels and ensure cost efficiency. A passion for fine foods, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment are critical. 

Our perfect candidate should be: well-traveled in Europe, be knowledgeable in gourmet food industry, speak multiple languages, be willing to attend food shows around the world. College Degree is a MUST.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers of caviar, cheeses, meats, seafood, chocolates, and pantry items.
  • Product Sourcing: Identify new products aligned with market demand and trends; evaluate suppliers on-site when necessary.
  • Analytical Procurement: Manage purchase orders, inventory volumes, invoicing, and pricing with meticulous accuracy. Monitor cost structures, freight expenses, and vendor terms to ensure profitability.
  • Volume Forecasting: Forecast seasonal and long-term purchasing needs, especially for peak periods like holidays (Christmas/New Year), using data-driven insights to optimize inventory levels.
  • Order Management: Maintain adequate stock while minimizing excess through effective forecasting and ordering processes.
  • Pricing & Costing: Analyze product costs, negotiate pricing, and optimize margins through detailed cost breakdowns, considering logistics and additional expenses.
  • Data & Reporting: Generate reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, inventory status, and cost analyses to support leadership decision-making.
  • Quality Control: Collaborate with the QA team to ensure products meet strict standards for taste, presentation, and safety.
  • Market Trends: Stay current with gourmet food trends, competitor offerings, and global supply chain changes to keep our products competitive.
  • Logistics Coordination: Work with logistics teams to oversee storage, transportation, and handling of temperature-sensitive goods.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5 years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with strong experience in mathematical and analytical processes.

·        Languages: Knowledge of French, Spanish, Italian and Russian is beneficial.

  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to handle purchase orders, volume forecasting, costing, pricing structures, and invoicing with accuracy. Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel (advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and formulas) is required.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAGE, SAP) or procurement software to manage data and processes effectively.
  • Product Knowledge: Expertise in gourmet foods (e.g., caviar, cheeses, meats, seafood) is highly preferred.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation abilities to secure optimal pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous organizational skills to manage complex procurement processes across multiple suppliers and product lines.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for internal collaboration and supplier management.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and proficient in at least one relevant language (e.g., French, Spanish, Italian, or Russian).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Data Science, Food Science, or a related field is preferred. Masters or Business degree a plus.
