Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally as they arrive at the service department.
- Assess customer needs by asking relevant questions about their vehicle issues and service history.
- Create detailed work orders for service technicians, including necessary repairs, oil changes, alignments, and other maintenance tasks.
- Provide accurate auto estimating for repairs and services based on customer input and technician recommendations.
- Maintain clear communication with customers regarding service progress, estimated completion times, and any additional work required.
- Handle cash transactions efficiently while ensuring accuracy in billing and payments.
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure all repairs are completed to dealership standards.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- File service claims with Warranty companies and insurance companies
- Ensure clean and safe office working environment
- Keep transaction records in order
- Processes cash, electronic and card payments
- Order parts for service and cordinate with service technicians for prompt servicing of vehicles
- Open and close office services and control everything service department
Requirements
- Proven experience in a customer service role; experience in an automotive dealership setting is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicles, including familiarity with air brakes and general maintenance practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
- Sales experience is a plus; ability to upsell services based on customer needs is highly valued.
- Proficiency in cash handling procedures and attention to detail in financial transactions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Previous experience as a Service Technician or similar role is advantageous but not required.
