Overview
We are seeking a Service Writer or Service Office Staff to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, technical support, and administrative duties within our automotive repair shop. This role involves interacting with customers to handle inquiries, schedule appointments, write service orders, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the repair process.
Duties
Customer Interaction:
- Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Listen attentively to customers' concerns and needs regarding their vehicles.
- Provide accurate and informative explanations of repair procedures, costs, and timelines.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate with technicians to ensure efficient service.
- Follow up with customers to ensure their satisfaction with the repair process.
Service Writing:
- Document customer concerns and vehicle issues clearly and accurately in service orders.
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair orders, including all necessary customer information and vehicle details.
- Ensure all necessary parts and labor are included in estimates before presenting to the customer.
- Communicate with technicians to verify the accuracy of service orders and to update customers on repair status.
- Review completed work orders with customers to ensure all services were performed as requested.
Technical Knowledge:
- Stay up-to-date on the latest automotive technology and repair methods.
- Assist customers with understanding technical terms and concepts.
- Provide advice on vehicle maintenance and preventative care.
Administrative Tasks:
- Process paperwork, including repair orders, estimates, and invoices.
- Maintain accurate customer records and update account information.
- Coordinate with insurance companies on claims and coverage.
Sales and Upselling:
- Promote additional services or products that can benefit the customer.
- Close sales effectively and professionally.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Excellent phone etiquette and active listening skills.
- Ability to analyze customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Experience in automotive service, service writing, or customer service is beneficial.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Multilingual abilities are advantageous.
- Familiarity with automotive repair terminology and procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
