Marlin Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to conduct traffic engineering and transportation planning studies. This position has the ability to report to either our Fort Lauderdale or Miami office. We are primarily seeking a Traffic Engineer that has their Florida Professional Engineer License.
Duties :
- Conduct Traffic Analysis including Transportation Impact Studies and Traffic Signal Retiming and Corridor Studies
- Develop various traffic operations studies such as, intersection analyses, traffic calming, signal warrant and speed studies.
- Collect, organize and summarize transportation data. Perform data collection analysis of corridor traffic counts, including turning movement counts, average daily traffic counts, heavy vehicle counts, and queue length studies.
- Work on the development of traffic calming plans. Coordinate with road designers and respective agencies to complete plans for the approval and installation of proposed traffic calming devices
- Conduct traffic impact studies to assess the development project's impact on the surrounding transportation network. Recommend mitigation measures.
- Conduct traffic analysis for transportation management plans including projecting and analyzing diversions, establishing and analyzing improvement concepts, and summarizing benefits and costs.
- Prepare detailed technical memorandums, reports, and presentations.
- Develop micro-simulation models appropriate to specific project needs
- Provide quality control of traffic analyses, including traffic data, forecasts, simulation and operations analysis
- Highway Safety Manual (HSM) experience
- Calibrate and validate transportation analysis to reflect existing field conditions.
- Utilize travel demand modeling tools to aid in development of future traffic volume projections.
- Review site plans and access management.
- Work with roadway engineering staff to prepare detailed signal timing and phasing plans.
- Ability to communicate results in presentations and in writing to diverse audiences including clients, agencies, and the public.
- Assist team with marketing pursuits
