Position Summary:
The Miami Marlins are seeking a qualified and dedicated Mechanical Maintenance Technician who will play a crucial role in the operations of loanDepot park. In coordination with the Senior Director of Facilities, the Technician will ensure that loanDepot park is maintained and fully functional for all players, guests, and staff by safely and efficiently performing and assisting in the upkeep and repair of all mechanical systems and structures.
Essential Functions and Requirements:
- Respond to and attend to building preventive maintenance and repair requests;
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines;
- Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and shut-offs for buildings;
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed;
- Assure each day’s activities and problems that occur are communicated to the department supervisor, and other shifts using approved communication programs and standards via command center;
- Communicate with internal team members and staff to resolve maintenance issues;
- Display proficiency in any one of the following categories, above average skills in two more of the following categories and basic skills in the remaining categories: Plumbing, H-VAC, controls, general building repairs & codes;
- Display working knowledge of all facilities mid-level troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems;
- Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks;
- Display basic ability to repair or replace PVC copper pipe (including soldering);
- Troubleshoot and perform general repairs on all types of mechanical equipment involved with the H-VAC system;
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains, replace pumps, water heaters and all basic repairs on plumbing related mechanical equipment) when needed;
- Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repair on electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, replace electrical switches, outlets, light bulbs, TV’s, stadium seating and other facilities related duties;
- Display the ability to perform technician on duty responsibilities, including readings and building rounds;
- Respond and attend repair needs in a safe matter;
- Follow building rounds and calendar preventative maintenance;
- Handle emergency maintenance and repair work;
- Perform general housekeeping and facilities related inventory duties;
- Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work;
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials;
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets;
- Adhere to quality expectations and standards;
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees;
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance. Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping;
- Able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays;
- Great communicator and interpersonal skills;
- Display basic computer skills. Enter and locate work-related information using computers;
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Vocational or Technical background;
- 5 or more years of general facilities maintenance experience preferred;
- EPA preferred not required
- Licensing preferred but not required.
