Marlow Events, a full-service catering and event production company from The Marlow Collective, is seeking a driven and experienced Event Sales & Planning Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a seasoned catering and hospitality professional with a strong background in event sales, operations, and production.

The Event Sales & Planning Manager reports to the Events Director and together with the operations team is responsible for the sales, planning, design, coordination, and execution of all contracted events. The ideal candidate has 2 years of catering sales experience and 3-5 years of event operations and production experience, with a deep passion for food, beverage, and hospitality, will be comfortable dealing directly with diverse clientele in a very fast-paced environment.  We anticipate substantial growth in the coming years and are looking for a candidate who wants to grow with us and play a key role in our success.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Revenue Generation

  • Work alongside Event Director to develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for Marlow Events, driving revenue across weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings.
  • Meet and exceed revenue targets by securing new business and retaining existing clients.
  • Identify and proactively target potential clients through networking, outreach, and marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and refine pricing packages, sales collateral, and marketing materials to attract and convert leads.
  • Track sales performance metrics and adjust strategies to maximize profitability and event bookings.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for event clients, guiding them through the full sales and planning process from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, and industry partners.
  • Understand client needs and tailor event proposals to create personalized, high-quality experiences.
  • Organize and conduct menu tastings, venue walk-throughs, and contract negotiations to ensure a seamless planning experience.

Event Planning, Coordination & Execution

  • Oversee event logistics from start to finish, ensuring alignment with Marlow Events' creative direction and operational capabilities.
  • Compile and distribute detailed event documentation, including BEOs, bar pull sheets, staffing schedules, and timelines.
  • Place and manage rental and vendor orders, ensuring all contracts align with event needs and budget.
  • Secure all necessary permits and compliance requirements (e.g., SLA).
  • Attend and oversee event execution, providing hands-on leadership to guarantee seamless service and client satisfaction.

Operations & Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of Event Captains and contracted event staff, ensuring adherence to service protocols and standards.
  • Develop and maintain service documents, procedures, and best practices for all event formats.
  • Collaborate with the culinary and operations teams to ensure food and beverage service aligns with client expectations.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies to improve operations, reduce costs, and enhance guest experiences.

Marketing, Promotion & Business Development

  • Work closely with marketing teams to develop promotional materials and campaigns to drive event sales.
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, and industry functions to expand Marlow Events' reach.
  • Foster partnerships with venues, vendors, and event planners to increase referral business.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Manage event budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring profitability.
  • Oversee event reconciliation, beverage inventory, and COGS reporting.
  • Negotiate client contracts and pricing while maintaining revenue goals and high-quality service.
  • Provide regular reports on event sales performance, market trends, and revenue forecasts to senior management.


Skills & Abilities

  • Organized and detail-oriented: must have the ability to create systems for managing daily tasks
  • Works well under pressure: must be able to gracefully respond to demand in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter: must have the desire to drive the business forward and understand its many moving parts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivated, high level of energy and work ethic
  • Fluency with Tripleseat, Microsoft Office, and the Google suite
  • A minimum of 3 years working in an event-focused position required
  • A minimum of 2 years of Front of House Restaurant experience preferred
  • Available for a Tuesday – Saturday schedule with flexibility as required by event needs
  • Driver’s license helpful but not required

While performing the duties of the job, the Planner & Production Manager is regularly required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
