Job Summary
Nurse Educator Role
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Educator to join our team at Genesis Healthcare. This individual will be responsible for orienting and educating nursing personnel, ensuring safe and effective care according to federal, state, and facility guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach current accepted patient care and nursing center practices.
- Supervise and monitor new nursing employees throughout their orientation period.
- Perform annual competency testing and evaluation, clinically appraising nursing staff performance to identify areas for education.
- Provide oversight to the Employee Health Program, including administering and tracking tuberculosis and hepatitis vaccines, as well as influenza immunizations.
Qualifications
- A graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current RN license.
- A minimum of three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience, preferably in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator.
- Excellence in clinical nursing skills is required, with training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.
