Position: Senior Accountant
Location: Carlstadt, NJ
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Salary: $85-90k, plus bonus
Position Summary:
Marmiro Stones is seeking an in-house Senior Accountant to oversee the day-to-day financial operations and accounting functions of our company. This position will ensure key accounting processes, including accounts receivable and accounts payable, are properly managed, and that financial reports are accurate. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for monthly closings and ensuring alignment with the company’s budgets. Additionally, this position will collaborate closely with executive leadership and our external CPA who oversees the auditing process.
What you will do:
- Oversee management of all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions and compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) team(s), including conducting weekly scheduled AP reviews and managing the monthly close process.
- Manage and review weekly outgoing payments to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with the company’s cash flow needs.
- Track and analyze cash flow regularly while identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Monitor and maintain financial budgets, ensuring expenditures align with company goals and projections, including budgeting for upcoming new construction projects.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial statements, interpret results, and communicate financial outcomes in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Produce financial reports for various departments (e.g., Sales and Finance), ensuring each department adheres to regulations and financial guidelines.
- Responsible for quarterly and year-end financial statements.
- Manage direct investment activities and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks
- Ensure team efficiency and resource utilization to meet company financial objectives.
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
- 5 years of Finance, Accounting or Bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small business environment. Construction industry experience is a plus!
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting
- Experience with accounting software. ERP and CRM systems
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
