The Planner II is responsible for owning a business segment, Aerospace or Specialty, within the Planning Team by driving alignment with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate scheduling and delivery of incoming sales orders through effective communication of production status. This role focuses on maintaining and improving metrics such as, but not limited to, on-time delivery, inventory days on hand, working capital, and production efficiency.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Reviewing sales order backlog and scheduling respective multi-step work orders to the production floor
- Releasing, tracking, and updating work orders and run sheets
- Work with quality and operations on NCMRs (Non-Conforming Materials) and drive process improvement
- Adapting and adjusting the schedule according to unexpected production changes
- Identify, evaluate, and address the root cause of bottlenecks in production
- Drive and collaborate with other functions to ensure on-time delivery and inventory goals
- Ownership of segment shipment forecast in collaboration with other functions
- Development, where needed, and maintenance of capacity planning to generate lead time in collaboration with Operations and Sales
- Attend cross-over, non-conforming materials, sales & operations, and any other meetings deemed necessary by manager
- Own respective business segment planning meeting
- Walk the manufacturing floor as necessary
- Responsible for working with operations to develop an achievable monthly shipment forecast
- Coordinate with Planner I on any requirements needed to keep respective segment production flowing
- Assist Planner I with releasing subcomponent work orders to the production floor
- Extract, analyze, and present production data associated with respective segment
- Support respective business segment production capacity planning
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the Manager
- This role requires a high level of attention to detail and work ethic
- Knowledge of production processes and quality control
- Math and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team and independently
- Strong Organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills while being deadline-driven
- High proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Suite, MRP/ERP systems; Microsoft Access is preferred
- At least five years of related manufacturing experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related discipline preferred
- Knowledge of ERP systems, including inventory control, bills of materials, and routing functions
- Familiar with LEAN and 5S principles
- Ability to stand and move around the production facility if needed.
- Ability to sit at a desk and conduct computer work for extended periods of time if needed
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds at a time
