Fits mechanical parts and subassemblies into different types of machinery and products. Conducts measures of products and adjusts them. Responsible for upkeep of workstation. Works according to established trade and shop practices. Typically has 0-2 years of experience and works under close supervision.
Role and Responsibilities
- Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications and / or drawings.
- Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
- Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary.
- Operate overhead crane and forklift to position parts for assembly.
- Maintain safe and clean work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
