Responsible for, but not limited to, electrical and mechanical machine and machine component repair, troubleshooting or rearrangement of new or existing equipment/systems. Individual must be dependable, hardworking, self-motivated and willing to work overtime as required.
Essential Job Duties
- Performs maintenance functions and refurbishing of equipment and facilities in response to downtime or repair situations as well as planned maintenance.
- Install, service, and repair mechanical components, electric motors and related components
- Operates hand and machine tools, welds, uses milling machines, lathes, and saws, requires some fabrication in order to repair and rebuild hydraulic and pneumatic systems on machines and infrastructure.
- Installation and replacement of new or existing machinery and auxiliary apparatus.
- Performs basic wiring of machines.
- Troubleshoot, repair and replace electrical components.
- Performs project work to assist engineering on new designs and layout improvements.
- Data entry and retrieval from the electronic preventative maintenance system.
- Identification of parts needed for stock and repairs and PM.
- Assist the purchasing department in part identification and sourcing where necessary.
- Ensures all safety protocols are functioning correctly on equipment and facilities.
- Keeps maintenance shop and offices in working conditions and machines, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and clear of debris.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be qualified to carry out multi-skilled maintenance jobs covering pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, fabrication, power transmissions and conveyors
- Understand industrial electrical and mechanical systems
- Basic understanding of electrical schematics, diagrams and print reading
- Experience working with various voltages; 5-24VDC, 120/208VAC, 277VAC and 480VAC
- Light fabrication a plus, but not required
- Able to operate motor equipment (forklift) and maintain proper certification, operate job-specific tools.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Must be well versed in OSHA requirements and the application thereof.
- Proven ability to resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently and logically.
- Must understand drawings and wiring/hydraulic/pneumatic drawings.
- Must be able to use computerized maintenance management software.
- Possesses requisite math, writing, reading, and communication skills.
- Must be professional and have a good work ethic.
- Ability to work independently to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Minimum of two years of maintenance work experience in a manufacturing environment with accountability for mechanical and electrical machinery maintenance required.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- Associate Degree and Technical Training a plus
- Must adhere to safety standards and wear the correct PPE as specified for the job, inclusive of steeled toe shoes and warehouse vests.
- Repetitive work and long periods of standing, bending, twisting or lifting, need mental and physical stamina and strength.
- Must be able to lift, load, unload, push, and pull parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Hours as assigned with the probability of overtime during the week and on Saturday.
- Must be able to work in the summer heat and winter cold.
