Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, including vendor selection, negotiations, and purchase order approvals;
- Supervise and provide direction to a Purchasing Agent and the plant stockroom team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in material handling and procurement;
- Maintain and assess supplier relationships, focusing on quality, price, and delivery timelines;
- Lead cost-saving initiatives to drive efficiency and reduce procurement expenses without compromising quality;
- Monitor stockroom operations to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent shortages or overstock situations;
- Manage the purchase requisition approval process, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Production, and Quality Assurance, to align purchasing strategies with overall company goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred);
- 3-4 years of experience as a Purchasing Manager in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in procurement and inventory management;
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to reduce costs and secure favorable terms;
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials planning;
- Experience leading a small team, with the ability to mentor and develop team members;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments;
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel;
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail;
