The Job
As Director of Mechanical Engineering, you will establish and collaboratively execute the strategic direction and tactical plans for transformation of MFTA's Mechanical Engineering function to achieve MFTA's strategic objectives.
- You will provide technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of high performance, quality, reliable, cost effective and value optimized products to our customers.
- You'll collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver resources, design methods and design governance to deliver new products, advanced development features, and continuous product improvement across MFTA's various product lines.
- You'll develop and execute a resource planning strategy to address critical talent and capability gaps, ensuring MFT maintains a skilled and capable engineering team that can meet current and future business needs.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead a team of mechanical engineering and design specialists in the efficient and effective delivery of New Products, Continuous Improvement, and Feature Innovation supporting prioritized enterprise goals and objectives.
- Cochain, mentor and define design and development governance for best practices for design for manufacturing, assembly, automation, serviceability and system architecture to achieve transformative product design application.
- Engage with cross functional project teams in application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure the correct level of process rigor in the design and development process.
- Maintain training documentation for key company processes including DFMEA, DVPR, PCR/PCN, new product development, and reliability planning, and ensure timely and comprehensive delivery of training to mechanical engineering team members.
- Ensure that all mechanical engineering activities comply with relevant industry regulations, stay updated with changes in regulations and proactively implement necessary measures to ensure compliance.

Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering or related field.
- 10 years of experience leading engineering personnel.
- 15 years of mechanical engineering experience with demonstrated practical experiences.
