What You’ll Do:
- Support Engineering personnel with efforts in new product design and modifications to existing products.
- Responsible for tooling design including mold design for plastic parts used in aerial spacer cable systems and molded insulators.
- Responsible for drafting of engineering drawings, part drawings, assemblies, construction drawings, material procurement standards, work instructions etc.
- Enter and review parts in Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP)
- Work with vendors to develop new and modified designs for accessory parts & products
- Design test fixtures to perform mechanical tests on products to ensure components meet requirements and are inherently safe when properly applied
- Responsible for creating test reports for product compliance.
- Provide Mechanical engineering assistance across all Overhead Solutions Group
- Entering Junior or Senior year of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering
- Knowledge of engineering principles involved in design, manufacture and testing of new products and tooling.
- Experience with Solidworks or ANSYS finite element analysis or similar software
$22.00 - $27.00 per hour, commensurate with relevant experience and educational background
Work Hours/Length of Program:
- The internship will run for 12 weeks from May to August
- Full Time, 40 hours per week.
- Exact start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules and the needs of the business.
- This is a paid internship.
