Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cable Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of cable systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role requires a strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including fiber splicing and network installation. The Cable Technician will work in various environments, providing field service support to clients while utilizing hand tools and specialized equipment.
Responsibilities
- Working knowledge and practical experience in cable placement, support systems, termination/testing of copper and fiber to industry standards required.
- Able to use as a minimum continuity tester such as multimeter, toner and wand.
- Able to terminate a variety of modular connectors correctly.
- Able to structure cable installation process, including pathway construction, rough-in, routing, telecommunication room buildout, cable terminations, labeling, and bonding in accordance with existing standards and splicing all fiber optic cable on site as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma, or equel, or technical training in electronics or a realted communications field.
- Must have two year experience in fiber splicing, termination and testing skills required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
