JOB REQUIREMENTS
LiUNA! is currently seeking skilled laborers to join us in working on Portsmouth projects and yard locations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the construction industry under direct supervision of foremans and skilled personnel.
To include but not limited to the following experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of construction industry experience
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in construction
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong teamwork skills and communication abilities
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions
- Proficiency in basic math for measurements and calculations
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently lift, push, pull, reach, and/or place objects up to 75 pounds
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, and squat
- Must be able to board ships, enter, and work in confined spaces with limited visibility
- Comfortable working in a loud shipyard environment
- Ability to work outdoors under all weather conditions
- Physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipment
- Proficient in reading, writing, hearing, and communicating with all types of personnel
- Willingness to work as assigned by supervisor to ensure successful completion of ongoing or new construction projects
- Performs a variety of strenuous manual labor tasks
- Assists skilled craft workers such as Welders, Piledrivers, Carpenters, Concrete Finishers, or other skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties
- Digs, spreads, and levels dirt and gravel using pick and shovel prior to concrete pours at the site
- Lifts, carries, and holds building materials, tools, and supplies
- Participates in Safety & Environmental initiatives to ensure compliance with State/Federal regulations
- May be tasked to fire watch tasks to include staying alert as a fire watch and preventing fire hazards during hot work
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned

Expected hours: 40 – 51 per week
