DINING ROOM FOOD SERVER
Servers will maintain a well-groomed, sharp, professional appearance at all times. Shoes must be polished and uniform and apron must be kept clean and pressed for each shift. Members will be addressed by name, when possible. A pleasant, friendly demeanor is imperative at all times.
Servers are responsible for preparing the room for service by setting up the tables in the dining room, brewing coffee/tea, helping fill the water pitchers, making sure the wait stations are properly stocked and ready for service - including prepping condiment trays and completing all side work (including, but not limited to, polishing glasses and silver, folding napkins, cleaning/filling salt and pepper shakers and sugar caddies). In the absence of a back server during slow periods, servers will assume those responsibilities, as well, during set up and breakdown.
Servers are responsible for detailing the restaurant, taking customer orders, delivering food and drinks, presenting member chits, entering orders into the POS system, informing manager of low supplies and helping create an environment that is safe and welcoming to all. Dinner responsibilities include placing and maintaining centerpiece lamps. Servers will always be willing to assist in running food, bussing tables, and seating guests (in the absence of a hostess). Servers will assist bartenders and other servers whenever possible.
Servers must also help bartenders monitor the consumption of alcohol by members and guests and inform a manager if a potential problem is suspected. When appropriate, servers should engage in conversation with members, creating a friendly, intimate dining experience. Use these opportunities to communicate upcoming events to the members.
