Introduction: Marotta, Tuchman & Blazini (MTB), is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team as a full-time family law paralegal in our Maywood. New Jersey office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, excellent organizational skills, natural self-starter and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a full-time family law paralegal, you will support our attorneys in all aspects of family law including divorce, custody and domestic violence litigation. You will provide legal assistance on numerous cases, which may include preparation of pleadings, assembling documents and financials for discovery and trial, filing with the Courts and other administrative tasks associated with a full-functioning family law firm.
Further description of some tasks are:
• Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as correspondence, pleadings, and discovery materials.
• Manage case files and maintain organized records.
• Manage attorney calendars and upcoming deadlines.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, and depositions.
• Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and evidence.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in family law.
• Paralegal certificate from an accredited program, preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to conduct client interface, offer an empathetic ear when needed, and provide five-star customer service at all times.
• Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
