In this role, you'll maintain daily operations while assisting our Shop Manager in handling the transportation and distribution of materials, products, and equipment to various project job sites. You'll be responsible for assisting the Shop Manager with inventory management, equipment maintenance, performing routine vehicle checks, and maintaining a clean/organized environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Shop Assistant is responsible for completing all scheduled job pick-ups, deliveries, and clean-ups. This includes ensuring that vehicles are properly maintained by checking gas, oil, water, and tire pressure, securing loads with tarps and straps, washing and performing necessary maintenance on vehicles, and servicing gas-powered equipment coming in and out of the shop. The role also involves loading and unloading trucks for deliveries, organizing and sweeping the shop and outside areas, handling snow removal, setting up and tearing down meetings, and assisting with additional projects and tasks as assigned. The candidate will report to the Shop Manager for the daily "game plan" and maintain a running list of responsibilities. Additional duties include organizing filters, dumping waste oils, cleaning catch basins, restocking trucks, and assisting with oil changes and maintenance as needed. The position also involves maintaining equipment, organizing various areas of the yard, power washing equipment, picking up garbage along the fence line and outside the building, and keeping the grass cut and garbage picked up along Eddy Road.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role should have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field. The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, with a proven ability to coordinate, manage, and direct others effectively. Additionally, the candidate must be organized, punctual, and have a clean driving record.
