General Description:
Performs maintenance functions well on all production equipment. Handles troubleshooting and repair of unique problems effectively. Performs routine electrical repair and troubleshooting, understands the electrical / mechanical interface. Communicates well with co-workers to assure technical activities support plant goals and objectives.
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Responsibilities:
- Performs maintenance and troubleshooting functions on all production equipment in an independent and effective manner.
- Learns to maintain and troubleshoot plant utility systems, including Power, Air, Vacuum, Boilers, HVAC and Refrigeration as applicable.
- Knows how to operate and can train production operating personnel on the safety, operating and routine adjustments of primary production equipment.
- Sets an example for maintenance and production personnel with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and share information.
- Assumes responsibility for the attainment of plant goals and objectives. Uses skills and talent to contribute to organizational success.
- Learns function, lubrication, changeover, repair and routine troubleshooting of mechanical and simple electrical problems for all production equipment.
- Actively seeks to use skills and talents to achieve plant goals and objectives.
- Contributes to the Positive Attitude within the plant.
- Ensures Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Cost and Sanitation are part of every task.
- Maintains positive open communications with the supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Related Experience:
- Minimum of two years maintenance experience in manufacturing operations.
- Competency in mechanical and electrical skills
- Understands shop maintenance, parts inventory, parts ordering.
- Troubleshooting of electrical cabinets
- Completion of plant related requirements.
- Experience with industrial mechanical and electrical problems.
- Able to troubleshoot new problems independently.
Other Competencies:
- Participate in training of production and maintenance personnel.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (read, write and speak)
- Experience with building, grounds and general building maintenance
- Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed
Physical:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods of time, work in confined spaces, and work with heights
