Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule transportation activities for freight delivery, ensuring timely dispatching of shipments.
- Utilize GPS technology and transportation management systems to track shipments and optimize routes.
- Manage fleet operations, including monitoring vehicle performance and maintenance schedules.
- Communicate effectively with drivers regarding pick-up and delivery instructions, addressing any issues that arise during transit.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including shipment details, delivery times, and driver logs.
- Analyze logistical data to identify areas for improvement in dispatching processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dispatching or logistics management is preferred.
- Familiarity with GPS systems and transportation management software such as Oracle Transportation Management is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of fleet management practices and supply chain operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and reporting.
