Business Development Sales - Southern California
We provide dispensing solutions as standalone products through to integration as part of automation enabled systems to production lines in the medical diagnostics, point of care medical test and microfluidics markets.
The Business Development role is responsible for prospecting, developing, qualifying, and closing business opportunities with a focus on dispensing applications. The successful candidate will work from early in the prospective customers process to understand their current R&D through to manufacturing processes and their challenges. This role will be a base salary and commission structure, though the first 3 months will be compensated at 100% of annual target pay package. Successful candidate will work from a home office, with reimbursement for business mileage, phone, internet, and business-related expenses.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
· Prospecting, developing, qualifying, and closing business opportunities
· Able to work through established sales process steps and maintain CRM as requested.
· Become adept at forecasting and enabling us to deliver solutions timely.
· Establish strong knowledge in both our dispensing solutions and related automation, software architecture and hardware functionalities.
· Ability to work in a team concept with Application Engineers and our support and service.
· Work with application engineers and system design engineers to deliver budgetary concepts for more complex systems.
· Comfortable with doing basic demonstrations of our dispensing technology.
· Expected to be working towards in person meetings 3 days a week.
· Occasional travel to Greater LA / California Bay Area expected as the business grows.
· Anticipate, Recognize, Communicate, and properly document customer requirements.
Qualifications
· BS, in a scientific or engineering field or equivalent work experience.
· 2-3 years of initial person to person selling experience. Business to business preferred.
· Able to work independently and show ability to work to a plan each and every week,.
· Comfortable with having a component of compensation based on their sales success.
· Excellent interpersonal communications skills with the ability to develop and maintain customer relations, handle customer interactions in a professional and engaging manner.
· Must live within 40 mins commute of San Diego Biotechnology corridor (centered at Mira Mesa /I-805)
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
