Job Purpose
The Procurement Engineer is responsible for supporting the procurement team in the acquisition of material goods and supplies. This role ensures the seamless execution of procurement processes, including the take-offs, material orders, plan review and delivery confirmations. The Procurement Engineer will work closely with the Field Operations team and Procurement team to ensure all material needs are met, while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Upload material invoices for review.
- Create Purchase Orders based on budgets provided by the estimating team.
- For all entities, review and cross reference procurement data for invoice approval and accuracy (including PO numbers, phase codes, job numbers, and pricing).
- Cross Check Invoices for Delivery and Receiving. Ensure that invoices correspond with delivery records and confirm the quantities received match the invoiced quantities, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Address pricing or quantity discrepancies with vendors before approving invoices.
- Generate additional purchase orders as needed, following approvals from the Procurement Manager.
- Revise existing purchase orders based on approved changes.
- Assist in preparing material submittals through approval process
- Provide accurate take off, order and deliver all waterworks material
- Provide accurate take off, order and deliver RCP and VCP
- Receive and review all precast stack drawings for accuracy
- Release approved precast stack drawings to Procurement Manager when ready for production
- Procure and deliver all precast material
- Help maintain the delivery schedule
- Prepare weekly backlog reports
- Track necessary precast size changes due to supplier limitations not noted on project plans
- Track quantity and cost of lost precast items due to material order plans
- Will be primary point of contact for field foremen regarding material delivery issues
- Coordinate delivery schedules with Procurement Manager
- Attend weekly procurement meetings with key suppliers
- Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered
- Maintain close working relationships with suppliers and elevate issues to Procurement Manager
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; college coursework preferred, college degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management or Construction Management preferred.
- Construction industry experience required; 5 years of progressive Procurement or Field experience required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment alcohol and drug test.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Time-management and organization skills.
- Ability to adhere to deadlines and properly prioritize work.
- Must be a self-starter and can perform tasks with limited direction.
Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
