Summary:
The Head Boys Varsity Coach is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all aspects of the girls volleyball program at Marquette Catholic HS, including practices, competitions, player development, and upholding school athletic policies, while prioritizing the academic success of student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct tryouts and select a competitive team roster.
· Assess individual player skills and strengths to develop personalized training plans.
· Implement practice plans that focus on technical skill development, tactical strategies, and physical conditioning.
· Create a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and accountability.
· Ensure adherence to school athletic policies and regulations, including eligibility requirements.
· Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school administration, and other coaches.
· Collaborate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, logistics, and program development.
· Maintain open communication with assistant coaches to ensure alignment on coaching strategies.
· Maintain accurate records of athlete participation, performance, and injuries.
· Manage equipment and uniforms
· Attend coaching clinics and stay updated on current [Sport] rules and regulations
Qualifications:
- Proven experience coaching volleyball at the high school, club or college level
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop athletes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to student-athlete academic success
