Position: Personal Care Attendant
Location: Marquette Senior Living- 8140 Township Line Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260
Compensation: Starting at $16 per hour
Hours: Part-time, with morning availability preferred. Typically 7:30/8 AM – 1:00 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays. Additional evening availability is a plus.
Position Overview:
Marquette is currently seeking a compassionate and hospitality-driven Personal Care Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our caregiving staff, you will be responsible for supporting our residents with daily activities while ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, laundry, light housekeeping, and companionship.
- Provide medication reminders as directed.
- Transport residents via wheelchair to various on-campus locations, including activities, worship services, beauty shop, and appointments.
- Observe and report any changes in the health or well-being of residents to the Wellness Nurse.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse, within the scope of non-licensed tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Practical knowledge and experience assisting with Activities of Daily Living.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in both routine and emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and 20 pounds frequently, with the ability to bend, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to assist with the lifting and transferring of residents in accordance with facility protocols.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Frequent walking and standing, approximately 75% of the time.
- Ability to lift and transfer residents in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
