The Facility Maintenance Assistant is responsible for ensuring the grounds and buildings at Marquis Industrial Services are being maintained and well kept.
Job Responsibilities
- Mowing the lawn - using a zero turn lawn mower
- Trimming hedges
- Watering plants
- Weeding
- Maintaining sprinkler and irrigation system
- Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weather proofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc.
- Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment.
- Daily building trash disposal
- Power Washing
- Assisting with plumbing and electrical work
- Building maintenance
- Any other duties as assigned by senior management
Job Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Prior experience with building maintenance (basic plumbing/electrical)
- Familiarity with sprinkler systems
- Familiarity with gardening and landscaping equipment
- Knowledge of gardening techniques
- Knowledge of gardening products such as fertilizers and pesticides
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long period of time
- Working outside with the ability to adjust to changes in the weather
- A valid drivers license
- Previous building maintenance experience a plus
- Previous experience using a zero turn lawn mower
