Marra Forni is seeking a Press Brake Operator for its Beltsville facility. The Press Brake Operator will use a press brake to bend, shape, cut, and manipulate sheet metal and metal plates.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operates a press brake to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates.
• Prepares, sets up, and adjusts press brake as required by product plans and production schedules.
• Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available.
• Measures and aligns materials to be used.
• Inspects products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Performs routine maintenance on the press brake.
• Maintains a clean work area.
• Reads information in job packet and interpret blueprint to specifications and tolerances for part.
• Uses measuring equipment, such as calipers and micrometers, to check accuracy of dimensions.
• Operates mechanical presses and hydraulic presses (on feet all day).
• Operates additional equipment such as laser cutting machines, manual mills, manual drill and metal roller.
• Monitors output and proper operation of presses and machines.
• Performs routine quality checks during production runs.
• Recognizes any unacceptable defects on parts and report issues to appropriate supervisor.
• Maintains required paperwork for traceability.
• Follows proper safety procedures and wear required protective equipment.
• Be open to cross training in a wide range of operations across different departments.
• Lifts heavy materials (up to 50 pounds).
• Works independently with limited supervision.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate press brake controls.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans.
• Ability to read blueprints and other technical documents.
• Ability to use and understand precision measuring tools.
• Ability to focus for extended periods of time.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Effective communication and math skills.
• Proven track record for attendance, problem-solving skills, and working independently.
• Attention to detail.
• Team player
• Must have reliable transportation

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in machine operation with any type of CNC machinery, metal fabrication, or related work preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Physically able to operate the press brake.
• Prolonged periods of standing.
• Must be able to lift 70 pounds at a time.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to use manual machinery.
• Good eyesight and ability to read.

Compensation:

• $23-$28 DOE

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
