About the Role:
We are looking for compassionate and skilled Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. As a DSP, you will be responsible for providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assisting with daily activities, implementing behavior programs, and promoting community integration and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Implement behavioral programs and strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Facilitate community integration and socialization through activities and outings.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, promoting a sense of belonging and well-being.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Three to six months of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- The ability to obtain a valid Connecticut Driver's License and necessary certifications, including Department of Developmental Services - Medication Certification, CPR, and First Aid certification.
