Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Preparation Associate to join our team at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa Ka'anapali.
As a Food Preparation Associate, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. You will also wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables, weigh and measure ingredients, and prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards.
Additionally, you will operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, and monitor food quality while preparing food. You will also set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles, and wash and disinfect kitchen areas and equipment.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of related work experience, and the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time. You must also be able to reach overhead and below the knees, move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
Preferred qualifications include supervisory experience, but it is not required. We offer a competitive hourly rate of $28.30 per hour and a dynamic work environment that values diversity, inclusion, and well-being.
