JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Card Digital Acquisitions, is a member of the U.S. Co-brand Card Acquisitions team. This role supports portfolio growth for Co-brand Card products through owned digital channels, and is vital to building and strengthening member loyalty and engagement with Marriott’s brands and most valuable members and guests. This role will work in close partnership with internal stakeholders, particularly Data, Marketing, Activation and Personalization (DMAP), external bank partners, and agencies. The candidate will play a key role in the development of marketing campaigns across internal and external channels, to drive card acquisitions.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required
- 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related major AND 4 years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance OR
- HS Diploma and 6 or more years’ experience in digital marketing with experience in paid search, digital media, retargeting, and personalization
- Experience managing and defining transformational strategies for business units.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Deploy Paid Search & Media to drive Acquisitions
Drive U.S. co-brand acquisitions through the development and execution of a digital strategy for Marriott-funded paid search, programmatic advertising, and display media.
- Partner with Global Cards leadership to define the strategy and roadmap for the next three years.
- Lead the alignment of the roadmap, creative & content development, and measurement of initiatives across MI-funded digital advertising channels.
- Collaborate with internal partners and bank partners to plan and execute media plans, designed to optimize the acquisition of new co-brand credit card members.
- Mange reporting acquisition performance across stakeholder teams, including Finance to ensure marketing investments meet aligned target for return-on-investment.
- Develop a content strategy designed to acquire new co-brand credit card members through the development of inspiring content illustrates how the co-brand credit cards enhances the member’s access to everything Marriott Bonvoy offers.
- Identify promotional opportunities with existing and new Marriott Bonvoy partners.
Leading Discipline Team
- Sets and champions the Global Cards’ vision for product and service delivery in Digital channels.
- Communicates a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals to produce desired results.
- Makes and executes the necessary decisions to keep department moving forward toward achievement of goals
- Work with internal teams and bank partners to coordinate ongoing analysis, reporting and forecasting.
Managing Profitability
- Analyze channel performance identify trends that impact revenue and profit.
- Manage spending on media & advertising to be within the annual budget target.
- Partner with key stakeholders to deliver an annual budget recommendation needed to support year-over-year U.S. acquisition growth.
Marriott Channel Card Acquisitions
- Lead and influence strategies to drive portfolio growth for U.S. Co-brand Consumer Cards.
- Develop product growth plan and marketing roadmap for Marriott Bonvoy co-brand cards, to deliver aggressive acquisitions goals.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, to identify target audience, inform value proposition and offer strategy and coordinate tactics that support expansion.
- Utilize analysis to identify and summarize opportunities to implement innovations and enhancements to increase revenue and portfolio growth.
- Deliver digital channel marketing strategy for U.S. Acquisitions
- Plan, coordinate, deploy and manage digital acquisitions marketing campaigns, creative, assets and offers on web and mobile app
- Manage campaign and segment optimization, budgets and reporting to achieve acquisitions KPIs
- Manage offer optimization and personalization, with internal and external stakeholders, to target the right offer in the member/customer lifecycle
- Identify opportunities to transform channel efficiencies and efficacy and add new placements
- Lead acquisitions marketing efforts for U.S. Co-brand Card products, in additional key internal and external channels (e-mail, DM, CEC, bank channels) Manage creative, segment optimization, and budgets to achieve acquisition KPIs
- Manage ad-hoc marketing projects as needed, to support Global Cards strategic goals
Achieving Goals
- Build and strengthens the Marriott Bonvoy U.S. credit card portfolio, achieving aggressive acquisitions and sales goals, program revenue and profit targets.
- Drive new cardmember growth, engagement on newly acquired co-brand credit cards, by thinking strategically and making data-driven decisions in a heavily regulated environment.
- Develop and launch marketing initiatives designed to drive profitable market share growth.
- Contribute to the Marketing Plan with competitive insight/hindsight learning and point of view on future development/growth opportunities.
- Improve product and program marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities, improving product benefits and coordinating new product development.

- Apply strategic marketing expertise and leadership, to evolve creative and offers, improve reach and enhance effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
- Utilize analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and touchpoints.
- Leverage customer insight to inform and optimize program messaging and refine customer experience.
- Remain current on industry trends, developments including those in payments, credit cards, and loyalty marketing and applies knowledge to evolve relevant benefits set and card value proposition.
- Monitor and evaluate competitive landscape, emerging technologies and market movement. Provides thought leadership and perspective for adoption.
- Demonstrate knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
- Provide technical expertise and support to persons inside and outside of the department.
