What are the responsibilities and job description for the PM Host Tavern position at Marriott Knoxville Downtown?
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet guests as they arrive at the restaurant
- Escort guests to their assigned tables or waiting areas
- Provide menus and inform guests about daily specials
- Assist in answering phone calls and taking reservations
- Manage waitlists and ensure timely seating of guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station
- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests with professionalism and efficiency
- Assist in coordinating special events or private dining arrangements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role preferred
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and basic food service knowledge
- Proficiency in using Aloha POS or similar restaurant management software is a plus
