Job Description:
The HSE Technician reports to Site HSE Manager and is responsible for supporting the maintenance, coordination, and execution of the site HSE Management System. This role understands the interworking relationship between HSE, Operations, Technical, and Quality and Food Safety. This role will primarily focus on Safety and basic industrial hygiene initiatives and will help to support Environmental compliance.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements:
- 1 year previous experience in a health, safety, and environment role OR a Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, science, engineering, or relevant discipline
- Working knowledge of safety regulations
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, and web based applications
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, science, engineering, or relevant discipline
- Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint
- Proficient in Power BI
- Basic environmental regulatory knowledge
- Basic knowledge of food manufacturing and GMP environments
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Digital safety systems key administrator (Avetta, SafePermit, Everbridge, Enablon, Weever, Nexus/EtQ, HSE SharePoint, HSE Dashboards, etc..)
- Basic industrial hygiene monitoring (sound level maps, dosimetry, annual audiograms, etc…)
- Coordinate emergency response team training, drills, medical evaluations, and equipment maintenance
- Coordinate inspections of eyewashes, ladders, AEDs, and fire extinguishers
- PPE program administration
- HSE purchasing administrator
- Liaise with Security team to maintain site Security policies
- Building safety capability within the site operations and technical teams
- Perform in person trainings as assigned
- Support trade contractor work planning
- Sitewide HSE communications
- Safety Pillar member
- Contribute to execution of strategy
- Support assigned HSE committees
- Hazard identification and solution development
- Partners with other key functions on initiatives including Engineering, Operations, P&O, Quality, S&F to develop and deliver site-based goals and plans
- Ability to be flexible with hours when needed
- Ability to influence where direct lines of authority do not exist
