Position Overview:
The Production Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of all landscaping operations at Marshals Outdoors. This individual will oversee work quality, manage customer relations, handle scheduling, and coordinate team operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and client satisfaction. The Production Manager also takes responsibility for hiring, training, discipline, and material acquisition to support all ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities:1. Operations Management:

• Oversee day-to-day landscaping operations to ensure work is completed efficiently and meets the company’s high-quality standards.
• Monitor and evaluate crew performance to ensure adherence to job specifications and timelines.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess job progress and address any issues or obstacles.
• Coordinate with crew leads to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.

2. Customer Service:

• Act as the primary point of contact for escalated customer concerns or inquiries.
• Proactively communicate with clients regarding project updates, schedule changes, or resolutions to service issues.
• Collaborate with the office manager to ensure smooth and professional client communication.

3. Quality Control:

• Conduct routine inspections to ensure all work meets company standards and client expectations.
• Develop and implement quality control protocols for consistent service delivery.
• Address and resolve quality concerns with a focus on continuous improvement.

4. Hiring, Training, and Discipline:

• Collaborate with HR and ownership to recruit, interview, and hire new crew members and leads.
• Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employees are skilled in landscaping techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
• Manage employee discipline, including issuing warnings and implementing improvement plans when necessary.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment that motivates team members.

5. Scheduling and Resource Management:

• Develop and maintain weekly and daily crew schedules to maximize productivity and resource utilization.
• Adjust schedules as needed based on weather, staffing, or unforeseen delays.
• Coordinate with the office manager to ensure schedule transparency for clients.

6. Material Acquisition:

• Manage the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment needed for projects.
• Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable pricing and maintain inventory levels.
• Monitor material usage and waste to ensure cost efficiency.

7. Equipment and Fleet Management:

• Oversee the maintenance and proper use of company vehicles and equipment.
• Schedule regular equipment checks and repairs to prevent operational downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

8. Reporting and Metrics:

• Prepare regular reports on project progress, crew performance, and resource usage.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Provide recommendations to ownership for process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in landscaping or a related industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in landscaping, horticulture, or business management preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in scheduling software and project management tools.
• Knowledge of landscaping techniques, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and maintain positive client relationships.
• Certifications: Valid driver’s license required; certifications in landscaping, turf management, or project management are a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks related to landscaping as needed.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $56,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
