What are the responsibilities and job description for the Explorer Teacher/Float (2-3 year olds) position at Marshall Child Development Center?
We are looking for a qualified Explorer Floater (2-3 yr. old's).
Hours for this position are 8:30-5:30 with an hour lunch break.
Responsibilities
- Be comfortable using Creative Curriculum
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to help children learn through play
- Observe each child to help them improve their social skills and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other, build friendships, socialize appropriately and resolve conflicts
- Track children’s progress and maintain open communication with parents.
- Collaborate with co-teachers
- Provide 15 minute breaks for teachers in the assigned age-group, lunch breaks and providing support as needed
Skills
- Understanding of the principles of child development
- Positive attitude
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as mediator between children
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
- CDA, Associates, or Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
