The Market Research & Analytics Manager leads the enterprise market data efforts by developing quantitative and qualitative reports for market research, that supports Marshall Health Network's strategic planning, and service line growth initiatives. Assists the MHN Chief Strategy Officer in the development of insights to support senior leadership and board members in strategic decisions. Ensures reliable reporting, synthesis and analysis of patient data used for market research studies.
In this key role, the MHN Market Research & Analytics Manager seeks insights for new growth opportunities and market threats; vetting research and monitoring data.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages market research and analytics for the enterprise.
- Gathers research on market conditions, competitors, and consumer trends
- Provides leadership and support to planning and marketing efforts, including market analyses, marketing, and strategic plans; service line assessments, and physician assessment
- Supports primary data collection (brand audit, consumer perception studies, community health needs assessment, etc.)
- Leads marketing analytics through assembling data and insights from a variety of sources, interpreting data, writing reports, and making actionable recommendations
- Recommends new service concepts as dictated by marketing analyses.
- Manages multiple market intelligence platforms; serves as primary liaison and establishes relationships with marketing research and business intelligence vendors
- Serves as liaison with contracted research vendors and supervises projects.
- Serves as primary point of contact for the Ohio Hospital Association, Kentucky Cabinet and the West Virginia Hospital Association; oversees purchase and loading of annual datasets into intelligence capital platforms
- Oversees the monitoring/tracking of key performance indicators for the system Balanced Scorecard and CHNA
- Assesses and strives to continuously improve the performance of marketing research functions, including the monitoring and evaluation of purchased databases and contracted labor.
- Department budget – works with CSO to develop and submit annual budget. Tracks, inputs invoices, and follows up on bills.
- Department payroll – collects and submits biweekly payroll for staff.
- Supports Community Giving budget including communication with outside non-profits, materials for board committee meeting and follow-up on requests.
- Attends executive and board level meetings to support presentations and confidential discussions. Works with IT, as needed, to obtain needed AV support.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communication, Business Administration, or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
Experience
- 5 years of market research experience.
- 7 years of health care or other relevant experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel and other database tools for research and analysis required. Working knowledge of Tableau is preferred.
- Experience with mapping software.
