REPORTS TO: Superintendent
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
TRANSPORTATION
- Oversee the training and evaluations of all transportation workers.
- Assist and work with principals in transportation needs.
- Oversee the orientation of all transportation employees new to the district.
- Visits each school/area a sufficient number of times on a regular basis to insure proper implementations of the District Transportation Program.
- Supervise transportation employees
- Oversees the diagnosis and repair of transportation vehicles (i.e. buses, cars, etc.)
- Oversee the maintaining of inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Oversee the establishment of an efficient and effective preventive maintenance program for all transportation vehicles.
- Purchase necessary parts and equipment under the supervision of the superintendent and keep accurate records and inventories.
- Promote high standards of safety in all work areas related to transportation.
- Verify the work hours of all transportation employees
- Oversee the operations of the transportation program
FACILITIES
- Maintain at all times an orderly system of management and keep the Superintendent fully informed of the programs’ activities and problems as well as routine matters relating to his/her own accountability.
- Assist in the training and evaluating of all maintenance workers and custodial workers.
- Assist principals and superintendent to set custodial work schedules.
- Work with principals and Superintendent to set custodial work schedules.
- Perform individual custodial inspections
- Assist in determining cleaning schedules (waxing, spray buffing, etc.).
- Assist in the orientation of all maintenance and custodial employees new to the district.
- Visit each school/area a sufficient number of times on a regular basis to insure proper implementation of the district maintenance program at each building.
- Supervise maintenance workers.
- Supervise the diagnosis and repair of all buildings and equipment.
- Maintain a current inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Establish an efficient and effective system of routing maintenance and preventive care.
- Purchase necessary parts and equipment under the supervision of the Superintendent and keep accurate records and inventories.
- Lay out, assign, supervise and inspect the work of the maintenance workers in the maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Promote high standards of safety and good housekeeping methods in all work areas.
- Verify the work hours of the maintenance workers
- Oversee the operations of the maintenance program.
- Assist the Food Service Department in determining maintenance needs; assist with the ordering of replacement parts and other needed materials.
SCHOOL SAFETY
- Supervise school safety program.
- Develops and submits the annual School Safety Grant application.
- On an as need basis, speak at community functions and civic club meetings about school safety issues.
- Represent the District at State and National Safety Seminars.
- Develop a safety newsletter that will outline safety issues for employees and parents twice per year.
- Monitor the Kentucky State Police website daily for registered sex offenders to ascertain when an individual designed by law as a “registrant sex offender” has established a residence in the District. If a registrant established a residence, or any registered location within the District, the Public Safety Officer shall notify the Superintendent.
GENERAL
- Exhibit loyalty to all phases of the school program and participate in school district activities as much as possible including active attendance at district administrative meetings and such other meetings as required or appropriate.
- Serve as a member or chairperson of various school/district committees.
- Meet with and maintain regular communication with personnel from the State Department for new information and changes in various state regulations and codes; keep the principals, SBDM Councils, teachers, and parent informed of current regulation.
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
- Perform related duties and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
