PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

 

CURRICULUM

  1. Work with principals and teachers to address instructional needs.
  2. Address gaps found in the curriculum based on input from stakeholders, data, and common core standards.
  3. Research and report on new curriculum offerings that may better serve students.
  4. Ensure state adopted curriculum is implemented in schools.
  5. Work with Director of District-wide Services to help provide seamless integration of curriculum from Kindergarten through 12th

GIFTED AND TALENTED

  1. Oversee updates of policies and procedures as necessary.
  2. Monitor G/T Program.
  3. Evaluate program and services.
  4. Work directly with GT director and GT teacher to ensure program meet the needs of gifted students.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  1. Serve as the District Professional Development Coordinator
  2. Embed professional development components in the consolidated plan.
  3. Calculate school allocations and distribute to schools.
  4. Budget central office allocation.
  5. Monitor attendance and staff participation in professional development activities.
  6. Keep records of dates, number of hours, employee names, and numbers to submit to treasurer to update completion of P.D. requirements.
  7. Arrange, set up rooms, and/or conduct workshops as needed.

ASSESMENT

  1. Serve as the District Assessment Coordinator.
  2. Adhere with all state assessment guidelines concerning training, implementation, and handling processes.
  3. Provide information to teachers, administrators, and board members concerning yearly testing changes.
  4. Order and distribute all state tests.
  5. Ensure all BAC’s are trained on state assessments guidelines.

 

INNOVATION IN EDUCATION

  1. Remain current on educational research and best practices in education and provide this information to principals and teachers.
  2. Organize district wide trainings regarding innovative practices.
  3. Support innovative school models by helping reduce barriers to personalize education opportunities for students.
  4. Develop and implement the New Teacher Training Program designed around innovation in education practices.
  5. Remain current on innovative technology solutions.
  6. Serve as the co-leader of the District Strategic Planning Committee.

CERTIFIED EVALUATION PLAN

  1. Organize 50/50 committee to develop year plan.
  2. Submit plan to KDE after board approval.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS

  1. Work with ELL teacher to ensure services are provided to all ELL learners.
  2. Order Wida Access tests for students.
  3. Work with guidance counselors to ensure training for appropriate test.

OTHER LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist in the coordination of all federal programs.
  2. Coordinates training and provides information/support to SBDM councils.
  3. Assist high school by coordinating related Career and Technical Education programs.
  4. Work with district wide instructional coaches.
  5. Monitor EILA hours for district administration staff and submit hours to KDE.
  6. Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
  7. Perform other duties consistent with the position as may be required by the Superintendent.
