PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
CURRICULUM
- Work with principals and teachers to address instructional needs.
- Address gaps found in the curriculum based on input from stakeholders, data, and common core standards.
- Research and report on new curriculum offerings that may better serve students.
- Ensure state adopted curriculum is implemented in schools.
- Work with Director of District-wide Services to help provide seamless integration of curriculum from Kindergarten through 12th
GIFTED AND TALENTED
- Oversee updates of policies and procedures as necessary.
- Monitor G/T Program.
- Evaluate program and services.
- Work directly with GT director and GT teacher to ensure program meet the needs of gifted students.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Serve as the District Professional Development Coordinator
- Embed professional development components in the consolidated plan.
- Calculate school allocations and distribute to schools.
- Budget central office allocation.
- Monitor attendance and staff participation in professional development activities.
- Keep records of dates, number of hours, employee names, and numbers to submit to treasurer to update completion of P.D. requirements.
- Arrange, set up rooms, and/or conduct workshops as needed.
ASSESMENT
- Serve as the District Assessment Coordinator.
- Adhere with all state assessment guidelines concerning training, implementation, and handling processes.
- Provide information to teachers, administrators, and board members concerning yearly testing changes.
- Order and distribute all state tests.
- Ensure all BAC’s are trained on state assessments guidelines.
INNOVATION IN EDUCATION
- Remain current on educational research and best practices in education and provide this information to principals and teachers.
- Organize district wide trainings regarding innovative practices.
- Support innovative school models by helping reduce barriers to personalize education opportunities for students.
- Develop and implement the New Teacher Training Program designed around innovation in education practices.
- Remain current on innovative technology solutions.
- Serve as the co-leader of the District Strategic Planning Committee.
CERTIFIED EVALUATION PLAN
- Organize 50/50 committee to develop year plan.
- Submit plan to KDE after board approval.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS
- Work with ELL teacher to ensure services are provided to all ELL learners.
- Order Wida Access tests for students.
- Work with guidance counselors to ensure training for appropriate test.
OTHER LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the coordination of all federal programs.
- Coordinates training and provides information/support to SBDM councils.
- Assist high school by coordinating related Career and Technical Education programs.
- Work with district wide instructional coaches.
- Monitor EILA hours for district administration staff and submit hours to KDE.
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
- Perform other duties consistent with the position as may be required by the Superintendent.
